De Martino

Viña De Martino earns new top recognitions in Wine Spectator .

Once more, the work at Viña De Martino has earned international recognition. This time, the prestigious Wine Spectator magazine dedicated excellent comments to three of our wines in its September 30 issue. Our Single Vineyard Old Bush Vines 2006 from “Las Cruces” (Cachapoal Valley) was awarded 91 points. The uniqueness of the Single Vineyard range is that it represents the result of an extensive search for many years of special vineyards that reflect Chile’s geographic diversity. True to this objective, our Old Bush Vines “Las Cruces” is produced from vines that are more than 70 years old, with several varieties which are a natural field blend, making this an extremely unique Chilean wine.

The Wine Spectator also awarded 90 points to our top wine “Familia” 2005, long recognized as a benchmark for the Chilean wine industry and a wonderful example of De Martino’s premium quality.  Produced from our family vineyards in Isla de Maipo (Maipo Valley), only the best grapes are used and it is aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels.  Over the years this wine has positioned itself as one of the great reds of the Maipo Valley.

Finally, they also highlighted our “Legado” Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 from the Maipo Valley with 88 points.  This range of wines expresses the typical characteristics of the most important valleys of Chile, where we work with different vineyards in each valley, thus achieving a complement among the different characteristics.
